  1. Registration

1.1 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 is open for local and International registration.

1.2 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition dates are the 10th of November 2023 and the 11th of November 2023.

1.3 Participation is open to all age groups, seniors and juniors. Juniors are defined as 5 -12 year olds, seniors are defined as 13 years and older.

1.4 Juniors who register and pay the senior registration fee will be eligible to win in the senior prize categories and will not be eligible to win in the junior prize categories.

1.5 Online registration will open on Monday the 4th of September 2023 and will close on Monday the 9th of October 2023.

1.6 On the day registrations are welcome, but will not include fishing gear.

1.7 Online registration will be charged at E1200.00 per senior participant.

1.8 On the day registration will be charged at E800.00 per senior participant.

1.9 Online registration will be charged at E800.00 per junior participant.

1.10 On the day registration will be charged at E500.00 per junior participant.

1.11 All prices are in Eswatini currency.

1.12 The Captain of the Team/Crew will receive a copy of the online registration summary submitted with the bank details to use for depositing your registration fee. Payment Reference: “Your Registered Team/Boat Name + number of Team/Crew Members. If Team/Crew Members are making individual payments, please use the reference: “Your Registered Team/Boat Name + Individuals Surname.

  1. Prize and Prize Giving Terms and Conditions

2.1 All prices are in Eswatini currency

2.2 THE WINNING TIGER FISH CAUGHT IS RECORDED BY LENGTH IN MILLIMETERS AND NOT BY WEIGHT. The weight of the Longest Tiger caught will not be disclosed during the Competition.

2.3 If there is a tie in the Tiger fish caught, the winner will be the first to have submitted their catch.

2.4 THE WINNING BARBEL CAUGHT IS RECORDED BY WEIGHT AND NOT BY LENGTH IN MILLIMETRES. The weight of the heaviest Barbel caught will not be disclosed during the Competition.

2.5 If there is a tie in the Barbel weigh in, the winner will be the first to have weighed their fish.

2.6 PRIZE CATEGORIES:

2.6.1 First Place Tiger – Senior Category = E 20000.00

2.6.2 Second Place Tiger – Senior Category = E 5000.00

2.6.3 First Place Tiger – Junior Category = E 2000.00

2.7 JUNIORS WHO REGISTERED AND PAID THE SENIOR REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN IN THE SENIOR PRIZE CATEGORIES AND WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN IN THE JUNIOR PRIZE CATEGORY.

2.8 THE WINNING TIGER FISH CAUGHT AND THE WINNING BARBEL CAUGHT WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT PRIZE GIVING. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT PRIZE GIVING TO WIN THE PRIZE OR YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR WINNINGS AND THE PRIZE WILL BE RESCORED. All participants are invited to be with us at Prize Giving and the After Party at the hosting venue, Vaksha Lodge. Prize Giving will begin at 6:30pm on Saturday the 11th of November 2023. Dinner will be provided at the After Party. Drinks available for purchase at Vakasha Lodge Restaurant & Bar.

  1. The Captain’s Meeting

3.1 The Captains Meeting will take place from the hosting Venue, Vaksha Lodge at 10am and 7pm on Friday the 10th of November 2023.

3.2 The Captains Meeting will be held to advise from where the boats will be launched and discuss all relevant details, and answers to any questions there might be. Wrist bands, Tiger Fish measuring Template, Fishing Gear , of the Team/Crew Members will be handed out at The Captains Meeting.

3.3 The Captains meeting is compulsory, contact your host, Robert Forbes on +268 7619 6392 if you will not be available for The Captains Meeting to make additional arrangements.

  1. Eligible Species

4.1 Tiger Fish: Relevant to the Cash Prizes as advertised.

4.2 Barbel: Relevant to the Barbel Jackpot.

  1. Fishing Method

5.1 All fish must be caught in a conventional sporting manner – strictly catch and release.

5.2 All types of rods and reels are permitted, Fly Fishing welcome.

5.3 NETTING IS NOT ALLOWED.

  1. Catch Submissions & Weigh in Deadline (Fishing hours)

6.1 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 will open for Catch Submissions & Weigh in on Friday the 10th of November 2023 at 12pm and close at 6pm

6.2 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 will open for Catch Submissions & Weigh in on Saturday the 11th of November 2023 at 6am and will close at 5:30pm.

6.3 Barbel Caught can be kept in a live well and weighed in during Fishing hours.

  1. Payment for online registration

7.1 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 accepts payment via electronic transfers by an online bank only. The Captain of the Team/Crew will receive a copy of the online registration summary submitted, the bank details to use for depositing your registration fee. Payment Reference: “Your Registered Team/Boat Name + number of Team/Crew Members. If Team/Crew Members are making individual payments, please use the reference: “Your Registered Team/Boat Name + Individuals Surname.

7.2 Payment must be received within 48 hours from registration. Please send your proof of payment to eswatini@lusipmonsterfish.com

7.3 Payment for registrations not received within this time period, will forfeit registration, and participants will have to re – register.

  1. Payment for on the day registration

8.1 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 will allow on the day registration. On the day registration will be open from 10 am till 1pm & 7pm till 9pm on Friday the 10th  November and from 7am on Saturday the 11th November. The Registration point will be at the hosting venue, Vakasha Lodge.

8.2 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 accepts cash payments only for this form of registration. All prices are in Eswatini currency

8.3 You will be required to manually sign The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 Terms and Conditions, Indemnity and Waiver.

  1. Fishing Gear

9.1 Fishing Gear must be collected at The Captains Meeting. The Captains Meeting will take place from the hosting Venue, Vaksha Lodge at 10am and 7pm on Friday the 10th of November 2023.

9.2 Follow the garment guideline on the website to ensure you order the correct size. Fishing Gear is not exchangeable for cash, no refunds or returns.

  1. Returns Policy and Refunds

10.1 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 registration fees, fishing gear, and Barbel Jackpot bids are non-refundable.

10.2 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 will not allow refunds, but will allow a credit, for Competition registration fees, only in exceptional circumstances where The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 is postponed due to any pandemic restrictions announced by government, natural disasters or restrictions on travelling due to political uprising. Purchase of fishing gear and Barbel Jackpot bids are non-refundable and non-creditable.

  1. Violation and disqualification

11.1 Any Participant that does not abide by the rules and are caught cheating in The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 will immediately be disqualified from the Competition and will not be permitted to fish any future Competitions held by The Lusip Monster Fish Competition.


11.2 Each participant, and Captain of the Team/Crew agrees to report any rule violation to The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 host, Robert Forbes immediately upon discovery of the violation. Failure to report violations may be cause for disqualification.

11.3 Decisions of disqualification are made by the host, Robert Forbes and The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 Team, decisions made are final and are not subject to appeal.


11.4  PARTICIPANTS ARE EXPECTED TO FOLLOW HIGH STANDARDS OF SPORTSMANSHIP, COURTESY, SAFETY AND CONSERVATION. ANY VIOLATION OF THE STANDARDS MAY BE DEEMED CAUSE FOR DISQUALIFICATION.

11.4.1 Participants can and will be disqualified if:
11.4.2 PARTICIPANTS SUBMIT THEIR TIGER CATCH OR BRING THEIR BARBEL CATCH TO THE WEIGH IN AFTER THE DEADLINE TIME (FISHING HOURS). Fishing Hours are from 12pm to 6pm on Friday the 10th of November 2023 and 6am to 5:30pm on Saturday the 11th of November 2023.

11.4.3 PARTICIPENTS DO NOT FOLLOW THE MEASURING AND RECORDING PROCESS. The scoring system for Tiger Fish Caught will work by means of adding your catch via the LetItSwim app (available in the iOS app and Google Play stores), which will automatically begin the validation process of the angler’s catch. It will therefore be necessary for each boat to have a smart phone on board which has email capabilities. DETAILS ON HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND USE THE APP ALONG WITH THE MEASURING, RECORDING PROCESS & RULES WILL BE SHARED WITH ALL PARTICIPANTS PRIOR TO THE COMPETITION DATE.
11.4.4 PARTICIPANTS DO NOT FOLLOW CATCH AND RELEASE. Any tiger fish or Barbel wilfully brought back and dead will result in the disqualification of that Boats Team/Crew Captain and the Team/Crew Members. (understanding that there may well be the odd mortality; however, these need to be kept to an absolute minimum.)
11.4.5 PARTICIPANTS DO NOT HAVE A VALID WRIST BAND ON WEIGH IN OR WRISTBAND IS NOT VISSABLE WHEN SUBMITTING THEIR CATCH
11.4.6 PARTICIPANTS WEIGH IN DEAD BARBEL OR SUBMIT A DEAD TIGER CATCH

11.4.7PARTICIPANTS SUBMIT A TIGER CATCH WITH THE JAW EXTENDED/STRETCHED
11.4.7 PARTICIPANTS STUFF BARBEL WITH BAITFISH BEFORE WEIGH IN.
11.4.8 PARTICIPANTS OPERATE THEIR BOAT IN AN UNSAFE MANNER WHICH MAY ENDANGER THEIR PASSENGERS OR OTHERS. The Captain of the Boat and respective Team/Crew Members will be responsible for the behaviour of their Team/Crew Members.

  1. Information submitted and our privacy policy

12.1 All participants registered for The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 agree that the contact details you provide are accurate and valid at the time of registration.

12.2 All participants’ personal information or material that is submitted to this website is subject to the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and Conditions.

12.3 All participants agree that the information submitted with registration (i.e. your name), is allowed to be used by The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 and sponsors for the purpose of advertising the Competition and/or to be submitted as evidence of your participation in the Competition.

12.4 All participants photos taken over the period of The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 are allowed to be used by The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 and sponsors, for the purpose of advertising The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 and/or to be submitted as evidence of your participation in The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023.

12.5 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 may licence, reproduce, publish, disclose, modify or adapt any photos taken of all participants during the period of the competition without restriction or payment to you.

12.6 Unless with permission of all participants, under no circumstances will The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 knowingly sell, rent or give your private information including name, address, email or photos.

12.7 The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 collect name and contact information solely for the purpose of (i) all participants entry into The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023, (ii) publicising all participants catch entries (which include publishing your name)

12.8 If any participant would like to view, modify or delete the information that we hold on you as a user of this website or customer, e-mail us at eswatini@lusipmonsterfish.com and we will make the appropriate changes.

  1. Waiver and indemnity

13.1 Entry into The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 is entirely at your own risk. The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023, its directors, owners and staff, shall not be held responsible for any damage you , or who you are accompanied by , may suffer whether sustained before , during or after the Competition date, as a result of bodily injury, whether fatal , death or otherwise, or any damages arising from the loss or damage to any property brought to The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023, irrespective of whether that loss or damage arises out of negligence, other than gross negligence, on the part of any person entering The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023.

13.2 In the event of any minor child in the custody of persons entering The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023, the parents and guardians of such child must have made the child aware, as far as possible, to the conditions of entry, binding them to these conditions, the waiver and indemnity and with regards to this, they are in full consent.

13.3 All persons entering The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023, and the persons they are accompanied with are well aware and fully understand the context of this waiver and indemnity upon submission of registration.

If any of the above is cancelled by The Lusip Monster Fish Competition 2023 but paid for, the participant will receive a full refund.
